Ink

Image
I hate to run out of ink in the middle of a project. It’s such a hassle to get up and search for the right color, replace the cartridge then wait for the printer to calibrate.  This time, there was a cartridge on my desk and it was the exact color I needed.  Great, I don’t have to get up and go to another room I thought.  I took the empty cartridge out and put the new one in.   I returned to Microsoft Word to print my letter.  Nothing happened.  I hit print again.  Nothing happened.  The printer prompt said, “ink cartridge needs replacing.”  I had replaced an empty cartridge with a used, dry cartridge.  Too lazy to retrieve a new one, I had settled on an unwrapped one sitting in plain view.  Instead, I needed to change the old ink for the new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. How can we expect to see movement in our lives when we repeat the old bad habits and ol

ACCESS!

It is great to have access.   My medical badge is well worn after years of gaining entry to several hospitals across the city.   One badge gets physicians into parking lots, garages, backdoors, secure corridors and doctor’s lounges not available to the general public.   This past week I tried swiping my badge to enter North Central Baptist Hospital from the doctor’s garage.   The green light to enter did not come on.   I tried swiping using different directions then slower and then again faster but the light would not turn green.   A custodian working in the garage at the time informed me, just push the door open.   Today you do not need the badge, you have access. Ephesians 2:18 18  For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Have you been swiping unnecessarily trying to gain access to the Father?   Have you tried being faithful in church attendance?   Have you tried being rigorous in Bible Study or in teaching others?   Have you tried becoming mo

Sing Praise!

Early in the morning, if you listen closely you can hear birds chirping continuously whether there is sunshine or rain.   The sound is melodious and cheerful.   They have no house, they must forage for food each day and they are constantly on the move yet the sound they emit strikes me as uplifting.   They know not what the day will bring, yet they sing in harmony.   There does not appear to be a lead bird conducting the flock.   Each bird generates its own noises.   How exciting is that, to be inspired to sing praises every morning without prompting or cajoling.   The birds apparently have something to sing about. Psalm 34:1 34  I will bless the  Lord  at all times; His praise  shall  continually  be  in my mouth. What would happen if we started our day praising God?   What would we sound like?   Would our sounds encourage and edify all who hear our voice?   Would we praise despite the trials and tribulations that come our way?   Would it take a pastor, friend

Some of the worse things happen to us at the most inopportune time.   A friend contacted my this weekend that   a young daughter of a friend had her purse stolen while in San Antonio on business.   She had no money, no identification and no cell phone.   To make matters worse, she sustained a severe ankle injury during the altercation.   She ended up on crutches and in a boot.   Her job required her to walk to River Center Mall where the team was preparing for the opening of a new H & M store.   Her supervisor made the wise decision to have her remain in the hotel room until a determintion could be made whether to send her back home to Louisiana.   The drawback to returning home is no work, no pay. This child was having a bad day.   Romans 8:28 28  And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to  His  purpose. This morning, plumes of fire could be seen coming from the top floor of River City Mall Ga
