A Great God
The sun will rise in the East today. Earth shall continue to rotate on its
assigned axis as it has from the beginning of time. The stars and all the host of heaven will
remain in their appointed positions.
Summer will give way to fall. Rain
will fall and return to the clouds. The
wind will blow across the plains emanating from a place unknown to man. How can I be certain that these mighty acts
will come to pass?
Psalm 145:3-7
3 Great is the
Lord, and greatly to be praised;
And His greatness is unsearchable.
And His greatness is unsearchable.
4 One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.
5 I[a] will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty,
And on Your wondrous works.[b]
6 Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts,
And I will declare Your greatness.
7 They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness,
And shall sing of Your righteousness.
The greatness of our God assures us that what He
spoke into existence will remain in place until time is no more. Only a great God could design and control
nature. How He does it is
unsearchable. We are not expected to
understand His ways, but to praise His ways, to speak of his wondrous acts and
meditate on the majesty of all He has created.
Instead of fretting over how He does what He does, sing His praise that He
does anything at all for us. Creation
stands before us as a witness declaring the greatness of God. You too can be certain if God so wills it,
the sun will come out tomorrow. He is
just that great.
