Love It or List It
What can I say?
I am addicted to HGTV’s Love it or List it. I enjoy watching Hilary and David guide
couples through the process of renovating their existing home while at the same
time searching for a new family home. If
you are not a viewer, this show presents a couple with a choice, allow Hilary
to fix your home to stay put because you love it or list the home because David
has shown you a home more to your liking. The person determined to stay in the
home has tolerated the one bathroom with six people in the house, has no
problem going down three flights of stairs to do laundry and does not mind that
there is no dining area. On top of that,
the general contractor invariably fines faulty wiring, mold behind sheet rock
or a supporting wall that cannot be moved.
Over time, the homeowner had become comfortable living in an ill-fitting
house. In order to create a new house fit for living,
old things must be demolished and rebuilt new.
2
Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore,
if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Are you comfortable in your house? Do you have some odd ways about yourself that
you have grown accustomed to? Has the
General Contractor spoken to you about a cold heart, a cracked foundation or
lack of connection to your power source?
Years pass and you see no need for change. You have become comfortable with you. We are a house built by God. Ephesians 2:10 states, we are His
workmanship. God does not do
renovations. He creates new creatures
which means old ways must disappear, ugly attitudes need to dissipate and hardened
hearts destroyed. The choice is
yours. Choose the new house. You will
Love It!
