Not in use.

Don’t you just hate when you need to use the restroom and you finally find it but there is a huge sandwich sign emblazoned with the words “Not in Use.”  A thought enters my mind.  I can run in and out before anyone notices.  Besides, it’s a restroom, it is meant to be used.  I am almost always met at the entrance by a maintenance worker who directs me to the restroom down the hall.  This one is not in use.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Our bodies have been purchased by God at an enormous price.  We have been redeemed from sin and eternal death by our Lord’s death on a cross.  His blood was shed for our iniquities.  At salvation, the Holy Spirit is imparted to every believer.  Considering what God has done on our behalf, everything we say or do should give God glory.  Our life should be a testimony to all and a witness of God’s mercy and grace.  When someone in need shows up at your door step, will they see what should be evident, one who glorifies God in their body?  Will God be able to use you?  Never let it be said that someone was turned away because at that moment your body was “Not in use.”  Make your Owner proud; always be found in good working order.
